Attendance

'Attendance is the essential foundation to positive outcomes for all pupils'

(DfE - Working Together to Improve School Attendance)

Widney Junior School recognises the importance of good attendance and seeks to engage with families, understand barriers to attendance and work together to remove them.

The school monitors attendance carefully in partnership with CSAWS (Central School Attendance and Welfare Service Ltd).  If a child's attendance falls below 90%, they will make contact with the child's parent to investigate and offer support.

Holidays in term time will not be authorised and leave of absence will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.  If time off needs to be requested, please complete the form and return to the school office at least two weeks before the planned absence.
